I was recently a panelist on MSNBC’s “Your Business.” During a Q&A segment, a viewer wrote in with a question I've heard many times from many different business owners. How can I find time to work on a strategy for growing my company, while I'm so busy putting out the day-to-day fires? The answer is obvious, but maybe one these owners are reluctant to accept--hire someone. While the cost of hiring a new employee may seem great, how much longer can your business really afford to run under a one-man-management system? If you have managers, delegate daily tasks accordingly to their department or scope of ability. Once these are taken off your table you can focus on growing your business, whether that means selling or developing strategic relationships.
